Lets see what the two PM did in their first 2 1/2 years in office:
TDM - PM YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad disciplined the civil service by making them punch card and improved their service to the rakyat by making them wear nametags.
AAB - PM YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi cancelled their Saturday workdays and allowed them to wear batik twice a month.
TDM - TDM changed Malaysian time so that Borneo (Sabah n Sarawak) and Peninsular share the same time. Singapore follow to change just like West Msia time not so long after that. (Singapore follow us!)
AAB - Pak Lah cancel the bridge just because of the selling of sand and use of airspace. Although the idea come from Msia. And thank god, we follow Singapore!
TDM - Tun Dr Mahathir created the "Look East Policy" and "Buy British Last" (Seriously, i never heard of this, but i like it!) until British PM Margaret Thatcher had to desptach Foreign Secretary Lord Carrington to KL and call the 'cold war' truce.
AAB - Abdullah allowed the West meddle into Malaysian foreign policy when as the Chair of ASEAN Summit, the policy of 'non inteference' was abandoned as Myanmar was sounded out, in favour of the Western 'democratization' flavour. Abdullah even allowed Cherie Blair QC (Read few days back and today newspapers) to be accorded with diplomatic protocol even though she was in town earning her 260,000 pounds sterling legal fee as a litigation solicitor.
TDM - Tun Dr Mahathir encapsulated the idea of having a Malaysian made car, emancipated into the creation of Proton and actually produced Proton Saga less than 2 years later. (Though people said that Proton is not good, still they managed to export!)
AAB - Abdullah allowed the dumping of foreign made cars at the expense of Proton. (++ Agreement with Japan. Msia import car and Japan import sayur. Sayur?)
TDM - Tun Dr Mahathir championed the notion where the rakyat themselves should decide on the law and made the Raja-Raja Melayu gave into constitutional reforms, in favour of the essence of democracy. (I think this one related to hockey case right?)
AAB - Abdullah allowed his son-in-law assume the 'power' of 'absolute control' of the nation. (Read khairy’s Chronicle)
TDM - Tun Dr Mahathir visioned and gave birth to Islamic banking and BIMB is born, as an addition to further GLC in the financial services sector. (And BIMB always show a good result)
AAB - Abdullah allowed his son-in-law to rape Avenue Capital Resource Bhd at his and his friend's personal agenda. (BIMB lost near RM800millions)
TDM - Malaysia Airlines, the national flag carrier received, Tun Dr Mahathir officially launched the Rolls Royce powered 390 seater widebody aircraft and started operating their first B747 in 1982, as part of the MAS expansion program.
AAB - Abdullah allowed MAS to be sliced into private airline agenda, at the expense of rakyat's domestic travel interests. (plus 6000 freed job (and most probably couldn’t find any better job related to airlines) after that MSS exercise. Most of them, Malay...)
TDM - Tun Dr Mahathir corporatised Jabatan Telekom into Telekom Malaysia in the interest of better telecommunications services and Malaysia's long term strategic gains. (If Jabatan Telekom still under Gomen, i guest u wouldn’t get that 3-4 month bonus right?)
AAB - Abdullah allowed his darling son-in-law brokered TM share sale to a strategically hostile party. (5% stakes of TM to Temasek. Not to forget, thanks to TM to provided money (i guest u should get better bonus if they save this money!) to MyTeam and allowed MyTeam to play againts Malaysia. And allow fan to booooo Msia Team. Msia team is not good, but they bring their pride for the nation. Not for a person)
TDM - The first Petronas petrol station was opened during Tun Dr Mahathir's first 2 1/2 years.
AAB - Abdullah raised the retail price of petrol thrice in the same period. (This one i can’t remember. How much the retail price for petrol on 2003?
****
TDM - Engineered the dawn raid in Malaysia’s takeover of Guthrie Corporation by Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNB) in the London Stock Exchange on September 7 to return ownership of some 200,000 acres (800 km² of agricultural land to the people
AAB - Allow people to take control/buy over our GLC. ECM-LIBRA case, TM, MV Agusta, blablabla... Hmm he’s good in selling/marketing i guess...
How about HFMD at Sarawak, shortage of sugar, electric tariff, BLR goin up 3 times in a short time, IPCMC, IFC(can we allow muslim convert to Christian?).... etc etc... blablabla... Hi la Pak Lah... Aku harap kau boleh pulihkan keadaan secepat mungkin... Sebelum orang yang suka kau mula menaruh prasangka dan membenci kau. Aku... Dah ckp semalam....
